MCS Cars & Coffee Morning 2020 in aid of St Helena Hospice

On the 1st of March here at Mersea cars (MCS Performance) we hosted a charitable car event serving hot drinks and cakes to the public. The idea speculated from a member of staff who is car crazy. They wanted to host an event for local enthusiasts to socialise, network and share the word around about Mersea cars as a dealership. We had noticed a lot of local people were unfamiliar of where we are situated in Colchester. Alongside the idea we decided to raise money for St Helena hospice, all money taken in from selling the cakes and coffees was placed into the charity bucket for St Helena hospice to do the big count up and to put the money to good and caring use!

From 8am onwards the set up began, gazebo went up, cakes laid out and coffee cups lined up ready. We had some past customers of ours show up an hour early in their cars they bought from us, it’s great to see customers continuing to support us after the sale and as always, we support all our customers after their sale too with MOT and service bookings and anything else needed. We opened the gates from then on and waited for the storm to hit.

9am on the dot cars started making their way up the driveway to our carpark located behind CC Discount and heating on Harwich road. Aston martins, lotus’ and suped up Japanese cars crawling in low and loud squeezing in to find a space only half way into the event at 9.30am. Having people turn heads at the constant flow of cars coming in was a delight to see. After Parking up most people headed over to the gazebo to grab themselves hot drinks and home-made cupcakes of many different choices made by friends and family, and wow did they look stunning all lined up!

After a few hours in things settled down, spaces were full and people were talking away about their prides of joy to other like-minded enthusiasts. With our Video team walking around on site capturing the moment and getting some amazing shots of the cars to reflect on the day, as well as video content we had loads of freelance photographers onsite building up their automotive portfolio out and capturing the moment too.

The turn out was phenomenal and us at Mersea Cars are all ecstatic with the outcome and have concluded this will happen more often!

We raised £209.64 for St Helena Hospice!

On Tuesday the 10th of March Alisha Howard from the Sales & Marketing team of Mersea Cars LTD made her way down to the fundraising office for St Helena hospice. Here she was greeted by the fundraising manager and team being Sarah and James in which they excitedly handed over the big cheque! Great success.
